Water is the source of life, water is the cradle of human civilization, the history ofmankind is optional water together, living in the water. City waterfront space is an importantregional city development and construction, it has irreplaceable value in enriching theregional scene, improve the environment quality. The idea of sustainable development, thespecial status of the city waterfront space has been widespread concern, the planning andconstruction of city waterfront space has become a trend in the world. This article is in thisbackground, and strive to the best fit point to explore the city and sustainable development ofcoastal landscape planning.This paper first defines the concept of waterfront and the coastal areas, and therelationship between the coastal city space and coastal city sustainable development arestudied analytically, and then introduced and analyzed the spatial development history athome and abroad, this thesis discusses the city landscape design principles of coastal space.These principles are the coastal city should follow in the coastal landscape design.Qingdao is the center city of Shandong Peninsula coastal region, is a national historicaland cultural city and a famous seashore tourist city. Qingdao Binhai space because of itsunique natural resources and historical culture of continuous precipitation which formed itsunique charm of the coastal landscape belt. Therefore, take Qingdao as the research object ofthis paper has guiding significance.In this paper, from a macro perspective to look at the design of coastal landscape ofQingdao City, through the success of the city sustainable development at home and abroad forreference, combined with Qingdao Huiquan Bay, Taiping Bay and Fushan Bay, comparisonresearch, summarizes the regional characteristics of Qingdao coastal landscape.
