The grid power structure mostly based on thermal power units, the thermal power installed capacity of northeast power grid accounting for more than80%and the lack of peaking power. Grid peak and valley difference intensified, resulting in a lack of power peaking capacity. According to thermal power plants minimum stable combustion load test without oil and the analysis of the actual operating conditions of power plants, researched thermal power generating units depth peaking technology. Analyze the major factors that affect the depth peaking of the thermal power units and the problem of in the low load operation.According to the minimum of a certain power plant stable-combustion load test, the experimental result shows that the power plant under the minimum stable-combustion load can reach35%BMCR of the design value which the boiler manufacturers guaranteed in the design of coal. In fact, almost all of the power plants can achieve the design value which boiler manufacturers guaranteed. Considering the power plant coal change and the problem such as equipment of security, through the various of power plants summary data, finally determine the thermal power unit theoretically minimum output of load capacity for10500MW. It’s an increase of2210mw than "northeast power grid minimum operation mode (2010)". The600million KWh abandoned wind power generation for the limitation of peaking can save189,000tons of standard coal reference to the standard in2010. According to the unit price850Yuan each ton coal in the Northeast China, these saving coals can worth160million Yuan and can reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide almost503,000tons. Yet, it can also reduce the emissions of soot30,537tons and sulfur dioxide845tons. It reduced the amount of nitrogen oxides by507tons in a straight row mode.Technology research on the depth peaking of the thermal power generating units provide a reference for maximum acceptance of our power renewable energy such as grid wind and energy conservation.
