Satellite Power System is one of the important part of satellite, a healthy andstable power system is directly related to satellite orbit lifetime. The weight will be animportant optimization objective of satellite power system, even if only a few percentmass reduction will also save satellite launch cost and operating cost. So, optimizingthe design for the satellite power system, improving the performance and reducing theweight power ratio of the system, which have important application value inengineering.Compared with the traditional design optimization method, a complex system ofmultidisciplinary design optimization is taken into account as the optimizationobjective, and the advanced strategy of the optimization is applied, which have greatadvantage for the nonlinear coupled system. Therefore, the multidisciplinaryoptimization and satellite power system are investigated respectively in this paper,Finally the satellite power system is designed by using multidisciplinary optimization.The main research contents are as follows:1. The basic theory of the multidisciplinary design optimization is investigated,concurrent subspace method and collaborative optimization method are comparativestudied, the shortcomings of collaborative optimization are analyzed and improved,which are more effective. the space search strategy based on genetic algorithm isin-depth studied, a method that is used to adjust the individual cross、variation rateaccording to the adaptation and evolution is presented, which enhances the searchability, protects the good individuals. Coordination optimization framework is devisedby the collaborative optimization method based on genetic algorithm, which keeps theadvantages of each method, and these features have a broad application prospects inmany subject optimization;2. In order to calculate and analysis the illumination angle of satellite solar wing,the satellite orbit perturbation model, three kinds of typical satellite on-orbit operationmode are established. According to these different operation modes of satellite, sixorbital calculation models on illumination conditions are presented, and the satellitesolar wing orbit visualization simulation software of illumination angle based onVisual Fortran6.5is developed.3. The structure of power system is analyzed in detail, then the equivalent mathematical model of solar array, batteries, controllers is proposed, on this basis, thepower system state equation in different light conditions is presented;4. Multidisciplinary design optimization method is used for the design of thesatellite power system. Multidisciplinary optimization model is established, Thesatellite power system is optimized and design by the collaborative optimizationmethod based on genetic algorithm; on the basis of the optimization program writtenin MATLAB and the solar wing orbit illumination angle analysis software, thenumber of series and parallel of the solar cell array and the storage battery of satellitepower system is optimized calculation. Comparing the experimental results with theengineering application data, the results show that the multidisciplinary designoptimization has a great advantage.
