In the wake of the rapidly increasing demand for energy and the growingconsciousness of energy conservation and environmental protection, people paymore and more attention to the development and utilization of new and renewableenergy. Since the change of energy structure, people actively explore advancedtechnology and fresh products which are energy conservative and environmentalfriendly. Ground Water Heat Pump system (GWHP) use solar energy resources tostore underground water as the cold and heat source of air conditioning system. With the aid of the heat pump technology, it can transfer heat from low-level energyto high-level energy. The heat pump converse the energy for winter heating andsummer cooling. It’s an environmental protection technology using clean andrenewable energy. Its application can actively promote the energy structureadjustment and relieve the energy crisis. But the popularization and application ofGWHP is constrained by limited fresh water and hydrogeological condition. Withthe increasing use of GWHP, the drawbacks gradually appears, which are thedetriments it brings while badly designed. Thorough theoretical analysis andadvanced technical support is the precondition and guarantee of GWHP’s fullpotentiality in conserving energy, as well as the significance of this study. This paper firstly introduces the characteristics and working principles ofGSHP. The application scopes, merits and faults are introduced briefly later. Then itanalyzes the influence of water quality, water yield, water temperature andhydrogeology conditions. The requirements of the source water for GSHP is raisedafter the analysis. Then the paper concentrates on the introduction of the simulationmethod of GSHP, and establishes the objective function and evaluation index ofsystem optimization. The constraint conditions are also presented in the later part. Then the paper takes practical engineering as an example so as to establish itssystemic model in TRNSYS. Based on the baseline control strategy, it also analysisthe amount and temperature of groundwater’s impact on the system performance.Furthermore, an optimal control policy model is set up to make a comparativeanalysis of annual energy consumption with the baseline control strategy.According to this paper, the following conclusions could be made: the amount, quality and temperature of groundwater affect the operation of GSHPsimultaneously; the quality of Groundwater mainly affects the safety of GSHP; thetemperature of groundwater has inverse influence on COP and EER and the mostsuitable temperature is15-18centigrade. The amount of ground water affects thesystem performance and overall energy consumption at the same time. Theappropriate increase between the temperature gap of supply and return water andreducement of the groundwater flow is conducive to system energy saving. Moreover, adopting the controlment of the effluent temperature and Variable-speedpump can optimize system performance and save the system power consumption.
