Dosage of PAC, value of G and flocculation time had been decided throughbeaker static tests, as well as analysis on the characteristics of high turbidity water. On the basis of beaker static tests, dosage of PAC, value of G and flocculation time had been further settled with static test ofmodel device. Finally, sedimentation performance and settling velocity of both flocculation basin and hydraulic flocculation basin, as well as turbidity of outlet water in the sedimentation basin is testified by means of single factor test, and thus the best operationcondition of the coagulation was settled. From the experiments, it has been found out that with the same quantity of in-flow water, PAC dosage, PAM dosage, value of G and stirring speed imposedgreater influence on floc formation process, while conditions like hydraulic flocculation zone and sludge return imposed greater influence on floc settlement performance.Position of draft tubedoesn’t affect coagulation and sedimentation process much. After continuous debugging, it is finally settled that the best operationcondition of the coagulation is: concentration of high turbidity water is200mg/L,water flow is1.5m3/h, PAC dosage is40mg/L, PAM dosage is0.5mg/L; position of draft tube is in the middle of the flocculation basin, stirring speed is160r/min, hydraulic retention time is12.2min; the width of hydraulic flocculation basin is5cm, water rising speed is1.39m/s; flow surface in inclined plate sedimentation basin is12-14cm, velocity is20m/h. under that condition, supernatant turbidity of outlet water from the flocculation basin is7.0NTU while supernatantturbidity of outlet water from the hydraulic flocculation basin is6.2NTU after10mins. Besides, sedimentation performance of outlet water with sludge return issuperior to that without sludge return.
