Automobile engine vibration is one of vehicle vibration sources. It has greatinfluence on vehicle comfortable performance. As one of the semi-active vibrationisolation devices, MRF vibration isolator is caught the more and more attention of theindustry. The ideal MRF vibration isolator should have a broadband performance onvibration isolation, however, the existing extrusion type MRF vibration isolator is goodat low frequency vibration isolation but the opposite to high frequency.In order to improve the ability of its broadband vibration isolation, first of all, thispaper studied the engine vibration source theory. The feature of the engine vibration isstudied through experiment. Secondly, the paper introduces the working mode, structureand working principle of the existing vibration isolator, analyzes the indicatorcharacteristics. In the third, this paper clarifies the design theory of the existingvibration isolator. At the same time, the structure of existing vibration isolator isoptimized, the model of volume flow rate and the average flow velocity, the model ofdamping force, the model of magnetic circuit parameters are set up, the structure ofvibration isolator parameters is determined, the average volume flow rate of MRF arecompared between Before optimization and after optimization.At last, this paper uses the matlab software to make the simulation analysis aboutindicator features after the optimized vibration isolator’s damping force model are setup. According to the simplified mechanical model about vibration isolation system, thesimulation analysis are made in order to evaluate vibration isolation performance. Thesimulation results show that the optimized MRF vibration isolator Not only to maintaina good performance in low frequency, but also have a relative good performance in highfrequency by40Hz to73Hz. At the same time, the performance of vibration isolationsystem is increased. Bracingly, the optimized MRF vibration isolator achieves a goodbroadband performance of vibration isolation.
