In recent years,corrugated steel webs box-girder with its unique advantagesare widely used at home and abroad,and has been vigorously develop. Playi-ng an important role in the composite box-girder with corrugated steel websdue to the shear connector, experts and scholars at home and abroad has neverstopped its research.This paper is a part of the two projects named The design and construction of key technology research for PC continuous rigid frame bridge of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs from Chongqing Science Committee and The complete construction technology research for for PC continuous rigidframe bridge of composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs from Chongqing Transportation Commission.To adapt to the further development of the composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs, this document describes embedded shear connector must be improved. To be able to applied to practical engineering, it needs the mechanical properties and failure modes of in-depth study.To this end, the following aspects of the work is done in this article:1) Brief summary of the composite box-girder with corrugated steel websdevelopment and structural characteristics, as well as the application of theshear connector and research status;2) Embedded shear connector form and classification of bridge engineeri-ng as well as the performance of the shear connector, and proposed structurein the form of improved shear connector;3) A comparative analysis of the mechanical properties and failure patternon the of S-PBL shear connector and improved shear connector with push-out test;4) Rely on finite element analysis theory, the finite element softwareMidas/FEA on improved embedded shear connector three-dimensional simulation analysis and confirmed the reliability of the analysis by the FEA entities;5) Contrast to the basic mechanical properties of the S-PBL shear connect-or and improved shear connector, followed by focusing on the impact of impr-oved shear carrying capacity of the controlling factors are discussed, and finall-y raised the suitable the formula of carrying capacity for the improved shearconnector.
