Cut-off Wall Plastic concrete is composed of water, sand, rocks and clay or bentoniteinstead of parts of cement. After the mixing, pouring, condensing, plastic concrete becomesthe flexible engineering materials between the soil and the traditional concrete. Plasticconcrete has the performance features such as low elastic modulus, large deformation andgood permeability. Because of these excellent properties, plastic concrete is widely used inhydraulic and hydroelectric engineering. The time of the application of plastic concrete in China is relatively short, the study ofthe plastic concrete’s properties is imperfect. At present, the domestic study on plasticconcrete is mostly based on the actual engineering application, and the study on themechanism and the systematic theoretical analysis is insufficient. For now, there isn’t thetesting regulations or standard for plastic concrete test. In this paper, we do somesystematically analyses on the mechanical properties and the elastic properties, and getsome conclusions:(1)The study in the mechanical properties of plastic concrete is focus on thecompressive strength and the tensile strength. We discuss the influence of the water-binderratio, the cement content, the dosage of admixture and the age to the concrete’s compressivestrength and the tensile strength. At the same time, we discuss how these factors affect themechanical properties of the plastic concrete. With the increase of the water-binder ratio andthe bentonite the compressive strength and the tensile strength get lower; With the increaseof the cement content and the age, the compressive strength and the tensile strength gethigher;(2)In the paper we analyze the relation between the concrete tensile strength and thecompressive strength, and get the formula which gives expression to the relation betweenthe concrete tensile strength and the compressive strength according to the test data;(3)Through analyzing and comparing the test methods of the elastic modulus, we thinkthe full scale distance measurement method is the better method to measure the elasticmodulus;(4) We discuss the influence of the water-binder ratio, the cement content, the dosage of admixture and the age to the elastic modulus and how these actors affect the elasticmodulus. With the increase of the water-binder ratio, the elastic modulus gets lower; on thecontrary, the more cement we use the higher the elastic modulus gets;(5)By analyzing and comparing the test methods of the impermeability of the plasticconcrete, we think the water seepage height method can relatively measure theimpermeability of the elastic concrete. We discuss the influence of the water-binder ratio, the cement content and the dosage of admixture to the impermeability and how these actorsaffect the impermeability. With the increase of the water-binder ratio and the admixturecontent, the impermeability gets lower; on the contrary, the more cement we use the higherthe elastic impermeability gets.
