Smart grid is one of the newest direction of electric power system development, and is considered to be the important innovation of science and technology and development trend of power system in the twenty-first century. Smart grid needs the intelligent substation as support, in an ultimate intelligent substation, all equipments of the station should be intelligent. In the intelligent primary equipment, intelligent power transformer is one of the important equipment in the smart grid, and also the core equipment of intelligent substation. As the core device of the intelligent transformer, the performance, reliability and stability of the intelligent component itself is very important.This paper introduces the design of the intelligent transformer calibrator component, based on function of the transformer intelligent component, developed the corresponding comprehensive calibrator device of the intelligent terminal input.Intelligent transformer calibrator device can be achieved on the on-site calibration function of the transformer intelligent components in the main IED, PD monitoring IED, bushing dielectric loss and capacitance monitoring IED, measurement IED, cooling control IED and OLTC IED. The hardware part is mainly composed of sensors, the circuit of module and computer system components, including switching module, temperature resistance output module, square wave pulse output module,etc; the software of the intelligent component calibrator device is composed of two parts, VC system and Flex system. In this scheme, using Vc6.0to realize control function of each module function design, using Flex Builder3to realize the interface function design of the intelligent component calibrator device. At the end, on a HOkV main transformer on-site calibration, proved the calibration device for transformer intelligent component can achieve the expected goal.
