Nowadays, the energy becomes increasingly scarce and energy saving has become abasic national policy, so reducing the loss of the distribution transformer and saving theproduction cost will bring the world great economic and environmental benefits.Oil-immersed transformer with tridimensional wound core has the feature of low materialuse and high efficiency, so it can play a big role in saving energy and reducing consumption,and study its electromagnetic optimum design method, develop the general optimum designprocedure are of great significance.This paper mainly completed the following tasks for oil-immersed distributiontransformer with tridimensional wound core:(1) Specified the aims of electromagnetic optimization and introduced the related designtheory. Besides, short circuit impedance is calculated by the means of magnetic energy in thecase that high voltage winding and low voltage winding both have oil canal.(2)The design of core is very vital to energy saving and material saving for the optimaldesign of oil-immersed distribution transformer with tridimensional wound core. A newoptimal scheme for the polygonal core limb section is proposed in this paper. Compared withthe existed schemes, the new scheme is with larger core limb section area, hence can savecosts and reduce core loss.(3) Designing software of oil-immersed distribution transformer with wound core isdeveloped, which consist of the function of optimization design, manual adjustment andstructural calculation of tank based on the Excel VBA programming language,Electromagnetic optimization design is the main part of the software. The sum material costof siliconized plate and wire is set as the objective function, and repeating traversing methodis applied to obtain the global optimal solution.(4) The types and function of the leakage magnetic field are discussed, which issimulated with ANSYS software. Two-dimensional simulation process is introduced in details,and the simulation results are analyzed deeply. Finally, relevant conclusions are drawn.The optimization program system has been preliminarily applied in practice, the practiceshows that this system can effectively reduce the cost within2.5%~5%, shorten the designcycle, and greatly improve design efficiency, so it can bring real benefits to the company.
