In order to relieve the energy crisis, China has greatly developed wind energy in recent years. But key technologies of the manufacturing industry relating to wind power generation in China has developed slowly, the design and production of main shaft bearing in wind turbine is still in a preliminary stage. So researching on the fatigue life of main shaft bearing and its numerical simulation method is significant to the development of wind power manufacturing industry.Taking double-row self-aligning roller bearing as an example, based on Hertz theory and other relevant theories, this paper analyzed the force condition of main shaft bearing, raised internal load distribution theory of double row bearing considering radial clearance, described the L-P fatigue life theory of bearing and method of rolling bearing fatigue life correction, confirmed the quantitative relationship between radial clearance and fatigue life of main shaft bearing, analyzed the influence of radial clearance to fatigue life and calculated the best original clearance taking account of assembly, temperature and load. In addition, this paper conducted finite element analysis for contact stress between spherical roller and raceway of wind turbine main shaft bearing, studied the effect of loads and spherical roller appearance on contact stress distribution. Conlusions reached above can offer guidance for the design and debug of main shaft bearing.At last, on the basis of fatigue life analysis theory, this paper conducted the numerical simulation of main shaft bearing fatigue life by ANSYS and Fe-safe code, obtained the weak place and the fatigue life of main shaft bearing, provided evidence for predicting fatigue life of main shaft bearing and reasonably arrangement maintance for wind turbine.
