Railway marshalling yard, which is called "the factory of train", is the center of railway hub, the base of traffic distribution and train breaking. As the key part of the marshalling system, the hump is still in the backward situation of manual unhooking, and it restricts the development of the comprehensive automation of the marshalling yard. Therefore, to raise work efficiency and shorten vehicles turnaround time, improving the automation of hump breaking-up in marshalling yard is very significant.In this paper, the hump breaking-up is studied as the main object. According to the principle of the manual uncoupling, the automatic uncoupling device is designed, and the overall layout of the system of automatic uncoupling device is researched. The3D model of the automatic uncoupling device is setup with Solidworks software. Then the motion simulation of the uncoupling process is completed with the software of Adams.Firstly, the hump breaking-up and the principle of the manual uncoupling are analyzed, and the main work steps of uncoupling are obtained from the analysis result. According to the main work steps and the requirements, the automatic uncoupling device is designed, the3D model of the automatic uncoupling device is setup with Solidworks software.Secondly, the overall layout of the automatic uncoupling system in hump breaking-up is researched deeply. The coordinate system and the walking trajectory of automatic uncoupling system are formulated. Then the uncoupling point and the breaking point of the waiting wagon in hump yard are analyzed.Finally, the3D model of the automatic uncoupling device built with the software of Solidworks is imported into Adams software to get the analysis of the motion simulation. According to the working principle of the artificial uncoupling, the constraints and the corresponding drives are imposed on the joint, and then the motion parameters are added to the virtual prototype for motion simulation analysis. The simulation results show that the layout of the automatic uncoupling system is reasonable and the automatically uncoupling device is feasible, especially can complete uncoupling operation instead of the manual operation.
