Radial gate is one of the main buildings in the hydro-junction project. It has100yearshistory. The technology and scale of radial gate has been reached a very high level. However, the destruction accidents of radial gate also occurres occassionally. The main reason is theunreasonable structural design or structure strong vibration due to the flow-induced duringoperation. Therefore, structural force analysis and dynamic characteristics analysis of theradial gate is necessary.The large span emersed type radial gate of Changsha navigation&hydropower complexin Xiangjiang River has been put into operation in2012. In order to verify the security of theradial gate, this thesis has carried out static stress prototype observation of1#radial gate onthe left branch of Xiangjiang River and established finite element model by using the ANSYSsoftware for radial gate. Then structure deformation and stress distribution while the radialgate maintaining closed-door state has been analyzed in this thesis. Finally, combining withthe results of the field observations, comprehensive analysis of the radial gate design securityhas been conducted.Study of radial gate vibration problem first start from the dynamic characteristics of thestructure which is the internal cause of vibration, one of the difficulties in dynamiccharacteristics analysis is fluid-structure interaction problems, currently mostly used addedmass method to solve these problems. This thesis according to Westergaard additional massformula to approximate simulation the fluid-structure interaction, used mass unit appliedadditional mass to the corresponding node of the finite element model retaining panel. In thedynamic characteristics analysed, calculate the radial gate natural vibration frequency andmode of vibration when it in the closed doors anhydrous and different gatage when there iswater case, and to explore the effect of fluid-structure interaction on the dynamiccharacteristics of the structure.
