| Electric power steering worm gear reducer often got failure, lead to safetyhazards due it’s frequent start, shock, bad lubrication and cooling conditions.Therefore, dual-cone double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair is just right for theelectric power steering reducer for it’s good usability, higher carrying capacity andlow transmission ratio.This paper research on a sort of electric power steering’s dual-cone doubleenveloping hourglass worm gear pair. Establishment of parameterized mathematicaland entity model, and research the contact stress characteristics by means of thefinite element method analysis, main research content as follows:(1) Establish mathematical model of dual-cone double enveloping hourglassworm gear pair, according to the spatial geometric principles and gear engagementtheory. collation and analysis mathematical model according to the study thecharacteristics of the transmission type,and put them as the basic theoretical of theresearch on dual-cone double enveloping hourglass worm gear pair.(2) Study the macro and micro the meshing quality evaluation method.Throughthe calculate of basic geometry and process parameters,learn the relationshipbetween those variables.achieve the constraint equation of minimum film thicknessand distribution of contact which use for Assessment meshing quality.(3) Study modeling approach dual-cone double enveloping hourglass worm gearpair.As the worm gear tooth surface is a complex curved surface that, establish themodel by approximation method do not suitable for finite element analysis.This paper proposed a modeling method of dual-cone double envelopinghourglass worm gear pair based on the modeling characteristics of the worm pair. Forthis idear,based on the SolidWorks-API successfully achieved high-precision modelingof the worm pair.(4) Consider the contact stress distribution characteristics of dual-cone doubleenveloping hourglass worm gear pair. With the help of powerful finite elementanalysis tool, study the contact stress distribution characteristics. Confirms the analytical results with the theoretical analysis, provided strong support for the design,manufacturing, modification of the worm pair. |
