The Application Of Mongolian Traditional Patterns In Modern Dinning Spaces

The dissertation mainly explores and discusses the application, meaning and design methods of elements from Mongolian traditional patterns in modern design of dinning space. It aims at understanding the embodiment and enhancement of ethnic characteristics and nomadic features.The meaning of this study lies in the theoretical basis it can provide for the design of ethnic dinning space, the development of ethnic culture as well as the industrialization of ethnic culture.During the research, field trip, case study and inductive reasoning were used. From the perspective of art, human science and aesthetics, it studies the application of traditional Mongolian patterns and their features, principles and value. It reaches the following conclusions:1.Due to the soaring economy since the1990s, people have gradually development more sophisticated taste toward spiritual life and their tastes are enhanced greatly. Thus, the unique regional culture and ethnic qualities of Mongolian dining spaces is gaining more attention from the society.2.Dinning spaces are places where people and behaviors interrogate. According to different behavioral requirements, there are different layers of dinning spaces to utilize its cultural and practical value. Therefore, the patterns must be included in them.3.The embodiment of Mongolia culture and ethnic qualities within these designs are of great value to the construction of modern ethnic design.4.The appreciation of beauty of Mongolians came from their desire of the grassland and their admiration of heroes and totem. This is origin of their tough, courageous and outgoing characteristics. This spirit needs to be displayed in the interior design of dinning spaces.5.Modern interior design of dinning spaces in Inner Mongolia must to able to demonstrate the charisma and cultural characteristics, to protect, inherit and innovate the ethnic spirit and to adhere to the road of industrialization of ethnic culture.
