Development process of human evolution is a history that constantly get more energy from nature.In modern society, per capita energy consumption has become one of important indicator that be measured a coutry country’s production and living standards.According to energy experts’predict from various countries that the planet’s oil and gas resources can only supply a few decades and the coal resources can only supply twelve hundred years,so nuclear energy has become the most realisstic available energy.The development of China’s nuclear industry has been40years.It has established fairly complete nuclear fuel cycle system from geological prospecting, mining to component processing, post-processing and other.Also various types of nuclear reactors have been built with many years experience in safety management and operation, and a complete professional, skilled team been belong to. Construction and operation of nuclear power plants is a complex technology.If unexpected happens in nuclear facilities,it will cause a release of radioctive materials, Resulting in staff and the public from exposure that than or equal to the limits specified.Nuclear radiation monitoring system play an important role in protecting staff from radiation,protecting the environment and ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants.Currently,most of radiation monitoring system in our nuclear power plant are from foreign, therefore, developing high-performance and advanced nuclear radiation monitor has an important value.on the basis of the analyzes in development status and trends of domestic nuclear radiation monitors,the thesis proposes a solution for DSP-based portable y dosimeter according to Advanced nuclear engineering testing technology and electronic technology for the defect of domestic nuclear radiation monitors such as weaked versatility,bulky,complex operation,unfriendly man-machine interface and so on. y dosimeter using G-M counter as detector. G-M counter’s use is limited to a narrow range of the linear range due to affected by the dead time, the saturation current, high pulse overlap, plateau slope and other characteristics.In this paper, TIME-TO-COUNT measurement method has achieved a range of GM counter tube extension, design also proposed with TI’s TMS320F2812as the core control system, including hardware circuit design and software processes. This is a high speed, low cost, efficient DSP chip, fully meet system needs.
