Analysis And Research On Plant Landscape Of Huagangguanyu Park In Hangzhou

Huagangguanyu Park in Hangzhou is famous for its graceful plant landscape, both at home and abroad. Containing rich scientific connotations and artistic spirit, it created a new era of contemporary planting design, and it also created new artistic style of combination of the East and the West. So it has important significance to research its plant landscape for contemporary planting design. Although investigation on the plant species and a few case studies have been done, there are few of systematic studies need to be done at the present.Based on field investigation and design analysis, new method for assorting of plant landscape space was put forward to classify the plant landscape space of Huagangguanyu Park according to space boundary. For mensurable research, ten typical plant landscape spaces were selected to analyze their space composition, quantitative characteristics and landscape impression. The conclusions were summed up from the following two aspects:1) every plant landscape space has one leading landscape units, but small space contained2to3landscape units and big space contained3to5which has3-6sorts of leading trees;2) the spaces sequence is diverse when the number of shape coefficient is bigger. According to the situation in Huagangguanyu Park, small space shape ratio is about1.7but for big space number is about2.7. The specific feature of the creation of plant landscape space was also concluded in Huagangguanyu Park as follows:1) adapting to local conditions and creating artistic conception with planting landscape;2) according to boundary environment to arrange plant landscape reasonably;3) collocating main feature and entourage reasonably, and paying attention to planting design of middle layer;4) skillfully using forest margin line and crown line to enrich spatial level.Fourteen typical cases of plant landscape were selected to analyze seasonal aspect, and the specific feature of the seasonal aspect of plant landscape in Huagang-guanyu Park were concluded as follows:1) outstanding the characteristics of view flower in spring;2) crowd planting to enhanced perception of seasonal aspect;3) horizontal disposition to prolong the time of seasonal aspect;4) mutually subtending with flower and leaf to enrich color scheme.According to the results of above investigations, six general characteristics of planting design of Huagangguanyu Park were summed up, which were as follows: imitating the nature to build nature man-made plant communities; changing the Plant density to form the different spaces; creating the plant landscapes with distinctive theme, and so on. Some suggestions were put forward as follows in order to keep sustainable plantation landscape of Huagangguanyu Park:collecting and establishing data bank of plant landscape; taking care of maintenance management to keep quality of plant landscape; outstanding characteristic of plant landscape in spring and enriching fall appearance of plant view of landscape.
