Foundry industry is an important part of current manufacturing and processing industry, It plays a very important role to our country national economy. With the rapid development of the market economy, foundry enterprises face the keen competition and severe challenge. Foundry technological process is a very complex process, affecting the quality of the casting of many factors, totally depending on the experience of the designers that which can not being an accuracy and dynamic analysis and control of microscopic changes of liquid alloys, and also is the lack of perfect scientific system. Foundry enterprises must change the style of traditional manufacturing and introduce new technologies and mew method. By means of computered modeling and simulated pouring and solidification, CAE technology can be visually showed the whole process of forming casting and defects. We should formulate corresponding technology scheme in pertinence, and ensure the feasibility of the technology, shorten the time of design and reduce the cost, which is of momentous current significance in promoting the production level and market competence capability.Using the three-dimension sculpt software-Solidworks, this paper showed that application of CAE in the simulation of the foundry technological process of body, and researched of technologies of CAE, aiming at the foundry technological process of casting. The applications showed that the software can be successfully simulated the mold filling and solidification processes of casting, which in the actual situation can be reflected in a direct and accurate way, and forecasted that foundry defects and the position of defect may be produced.The results of the study showed that near hot spots and final position of solidification, being expanded feeding channel can be provided an effective the feeding of molten steel during solidification process, and thus remove and control defects. Through the simulation and optimization, the steel-casting body in actual production had reached the quality requirements. That proved that the method of the paper was effective and feasible.It can be achieved to research the whole casting processes rapidly, accurately and low costly by adopting the CAE technology. It is important that using the technology can be revolutionized the casting process programming blindness, ensured casting quality, and increased productivity as well as to promote the foundry casting technology.
