Q345GJ steel has been widely used in engineering because of its good mechanicalproperty and welding performance, such as the National Stadium, the key part of CCTVnew building and stress complex parts. As a new type of building structural materialwith better comprehensive performance than ordinary steel, however, GJ steel failed toreflect its excellent material performance due to its same usage as ordinary steel inpractical engineering applications.In order to study the overall stability capacity performance, this paper use the finiteelement analysis as a primary means to research, supplemented by theoretical andexperimental study. This paper Mainly conducted the following research contents:(1)obtain the material parameters and the overall stability bearing capacity of GJ steelthrough the experimental study;(2) Comparing the results from finite element softwareand the experimental data from American Society of Civil Engineering to verify thecorrectness and feasibility of the finite element software, and analyze factors whichcause deviation of test data in the experimental process;(3) Based on finite elementanalysis, study the overall stability bearing capacity of GJ steel flexural member andcompare the difference of overall stability performance with that in the "steel structuredesign code".The conclusions from research are as follows:(1) The material performance of GJsteel is excellent, the mechanical properties which is perpendicular to the rollingdirection is similar to that along the rolling direction, which is more suitable materialsfor isotropic hypothesis;(2) Using finite element software ANSYS to simulate overallstability of flexural member is reliable;(3) The influencing factors of overall stabilitybearing capacity of flexural member are complicated. Specifically, the width of clipconstraints, different residual stress levels and initial defect peak have less little effecton the ultimate bearing capacity, the factor that lateral constraint from actuator is onemain cause of that test data goes on the high side;(4) Conducting finite element analysiswith ideal clamp side constraints and without the spring element. After normalizationprocessing of analysis results, conclusions can be drown as follows: stability coefficientCurve of GJ steel welded I-section is similar to that in the steel structure design code,but there is difference between the stability performance of wide flange sections andnarrow flange sections. Through the experimental research and finite element study, the overall stability anddeformation performance of GJ steel flexural member have been studied clearly, and thebasic data of promoting the further study of GJ steel and proposing related designparameters has been provided.
