With the rapid growth of economy and a continuous improve in civil livelihoodthere exists a soaring demand for electricity consumption and a more strict standardfor quality of power supply. While some weaknesses, such as an unreliable powersupply, a poor ability in resisting accidents are ubiquitous in current distributionnetwork. Therefore, the optimization and planning of distribution network has nowbeen an urgent task. It has many sectors such as load forecast, grid structureoptimization and economic benefit analysis. Among these, the optimization andplanning of distribution network structure planning plays an important part and itsresult can directly affect on the power supply capability and reliability of powersystem and investment and operation efficiency.Based on the problems, this paper proposed an optimization and planning methodfor grid structure of distribution network. Main duties are shown as follows:1. For these power supply districts each of which with a broad service area, theentire power supply district is divided into several blocks with modified K-means.Therefore, the optimization and planning of grid structure developed in every powersupply block will be more clear and simple, thus getting a more satisfying result.2. Based on methods of power supply capacity dealing with main transformerinterconnection and N-1principle, considering the characteristics of load transferability under main transformation interconnection, the optimal main transformercontact relation matrix that meets all requirements is obtained by adopting backwardoptimization method. So the contact structure between a high voltage transformer andits middle voltage lines is optimized also the potential of power supply is mined,hence improving the equipment utilization level of distribution network.Finally, the result of an example by applying the established method is obtained,thus exhibiting the engineering application value of the method.
