As to the traditional Internal-Combustion Rotary Generator (ICRG), there are somedisadvantage of low efficiency and high emission. And the mechanical transmissiondevices in ICRG increase the loss and decrease the efficiency. On the other hand, theStirling Linear Generator (SLG) without the mechanical transmission devices make thestructure more compact and more reliable. And they also promote the efficiency.Compared with ICRG.. SLG has the advantage of lower vibrance, lower noise, loweremission, simpler structure, higher efficiency and larger range of fuel and thereforemore and more people pay attention to SLG.. At the same time, SLG is used in eachfield of the industry. In this paper, some works have been carried out on a permanentmagnet mover, short primary and long secondary Stirling linear generator.Firstly, this paper introduces operating principle of the Stirling linear generatorsystem, building the mathematical model and simulating the finite element model toprove the accuracy of the mathematical model.Secondly, this paper studies position estimation strategy of SLG in positionsensorless condition, including the position estimation strategy based on EMF andbased on fuzzy-sliding-mode observer. Besides, the system is simulated in Simulink andthe experiment is finished. Although there are some errors in the estimated EMF, speedand position, it meets the demand of the system.Then this paper studies the starting control strategy of SLG, including the sinewave current control, the square wave current control and the current control of basedon EMF. The experiment platform is built. The starting control strategy is simulated andthe experiment is taken. The results prove that the SLG is started with this strategy.Finally this paper studies the generation control strategy. In the ideal conditions,we study the highest efficiency control strategy and maximum ratio of theelectromagnetic power to current control strategy. The experiment platform is builtbased on the Crank-connecting Rod Mechanism. The generation control of SLG isfinished in simulation and the experiment.
