Automated mechanical transmission (AMT) is based on tradition geartransmission, which has higher transmission effciency and lower cost than AT.Therefore it has great market potential. The control of clutch is one of the keytechnical problems of AMT vehicle development, joint control of vehicle starting onwhich is more difficult. So the control performance is good or bad affect directly thecomfortable driving and economical fuel.In this paper, AMT clutch actuator is electromechanical. Compared withelectrolhydraulic clutch actuator, electromechanic clutch actuator is drived by DCmotor which has advantages of simple structure, excellent adaptability, simple crafts,low cost and strong portability while its disadvantages can be overcome. And it will bethe most popular component of AMT. The speed feedback and position feedback, cancomplete the tracking control of the process of clutch engagement, and achieved agood control effect.Firstly, this paper introduces the development of automatic transmission, andtheir advantages and disadvantages are simple explained. The present developmentsituation of AMT technology, the working principle and some difficult technicalproblem are discussed while the focus of this paper is established, which is the controlof clutch.Secondly, according to the characteristic test of the engine torque, themathematical model of engine and transmission system of vehicle are obtained by datafitted method and the balance equation of torque. With the introduction of the clutchon the function, structure and working principle, this paper gives a detailed analysis oninfluencing factor and the maxinum of joint speed when the clutch is jointing, putsforward the control scheme of the clutch engagement, and determines two evaluationindexes of the clutch engagement. The two evaluation indexes are friction work andthe impact degree.Then using fuzzy control theory realizes the judgment of subjective intention for drivers, establishes fuzzy controller as the inputs which are the driver intention and thespeed ratio of the driving disc and the driven disc, and builds the system byMatlab/Simulink which is composed by the engine torque characteristic module,vehicle transmission system module, the degree of impact and friction work module.This system meets the requirements of vehicle starting by the results of the simulation.Finally, the paper introduces the design, the selection of actuator, and the basicparameters of the main components for the clutch’s actuator controlled by electric,established the mathematical model of DC motor. At the same time I puts forward theprinciple of the immune control, designs a fuzzy immune PID’s controller, andimproves the respond of the speed of DC motor. In addition, the paper has alsoestablished the module of the actuator and obtained the results of the simulation byMatlab/Simulink. The results of the simulation shows that the respond of the clutch’sactuator have a good effect on tracking.
