| Performance Spece is a curial part of cultural buildings, which is used for artisticperformance and Large Scale Conferences and other activities. It is an important facilityto enrich people’s cultural life. With the raising of the domestic economy, theatricalbuilding has been constructed largely, even are going to a climax stage. The newtechnologies development for performance forms, audio and lighting proposed newrequirements for architectural acoustic design in the theatrical building. How to makearchitectural acoustics adapt to performance new forms and the development of newtechnology, which has been the further researched subject in the architectural acousticsdesign.In this paper, based on the large-scale theatrical building in China, the developmentof acoustic in theatrical building is studied analyzed in term of the individual practicalexperience in many projects.The progress of architectural acoustics design is discussed in following factors:(1)The basic theory and knowledge of architectural acoustics, including the commonlyacoustic design index and their physical meaning(2)Design specifications and measurement specifications in domestic and overseas.(3)Design techniques and method in architectural acoustics, including controlling ofreverberation time and indoor sound field.(4) Guidance of computer simulation and prediction on design process of architecturalacoustics.(5) The effect of new technologies, such as audio and lighting on architectural acousticsdesign.(6) Guidance of new materials laboratory experiments and analysis on architecturalacoustics design process(7) Applications and development trends of architectural acoustics in the actual project.Theoretical research is tested and development in engineering practice, so engineeringpractice plays an important part in this research.
