For humans, the water is a gift from nature and the source of life. Waterscape is gardeningactivities which is a old way to get close to the natural landscape.As for it’s unique charm andcapabilities of improving the ecological environment, Waterscape has been widely used in theconstruction of urban landscape.To solve the biggest the21st century environmental issues, human raise a sustainabledevelopment strategy-a low-carbon economy.Garden construction is the bulk of energyconsumption in the city. The construct of waterscape needs more water and energy consumption.The waterscape can improve the micro-climate and ecological environment of the urban areaseffectively. Most construction focused on creating a landscape effects, or so-called "ecological"effect but ignored the high carbon cost behind of it. Therefore, the article will be based on theconcept of low-carbon urban landscape and research the method of urban waterscape constructfrom a view of reducing water and energy consumption.This thesis will define the concept of Waterscape, Garden Waterscape and Urbanwaterscape,review the development of the western and China Garden Waterscape and study ofnatural waterscape ecosystems and other main types firstly. Focus on researching of urbanwaterscape application situation and combing and pondering the high carbon problem. Then raisea new ideas for the development of the urban waterscape based on the concept of sustainabledevelopment of low-carbon.Explore the low-carbon strategies of urban waterscape from thelocation, including the whole process such as designing and maintenance the life cycle, waterchannels, the layout of the form, material selection, plant collocation and all aspects ofconservation and management.Lastly, choose the campus landscape innovation design of Quanjiao High School inChuzhou City, Anhui Province as an example.Apply the waterscape design method based onlow-carbon concept to the practical projects. Summary, find the lack of research and prospect.
