Low and medium rises shear walls bear most of the shear when the buildingundertakes lateral force such as earthquake, wind, etc. The common failure mode ofshear walls are baroclinic destruction or bending-shear destruction. Diagonal braces areadded into SRC shear walls to improve bearing capacity and ductility, this kind of shearwall is called SRC shear walls with diagonal braces.Experimental research and theoretical research about mechanical properties ofSRC shear walls with diagonal braces is not mature, it is also not mentioned in domesticrelated specification, and it has complex constitution, so it is not common used inapplication. The angle of brace and cross section form have an significant influence onmechanical properties of walls, by the limit of experimental condition and fundingresearchers can’t conduct large numbers of experiments to explore the reasonable formof braces. Hence building the analysis model of SRC shear walls with diagonal braceswith the use of FEA program to conduct numerical simulation is important.Because of the complexity of its mechanical property, it lacks of a mature refiningFEA model that can accurately simulate the whole process. In this paper, itsystemarically discusses the walls’ refining FEA modeling methodology, main work isas follows:①Depending on the experimental phenomenon of SRC shear walls with diagonalbraces,summarizing the mechanical characteristics and failure mode as the basis ofnumerical simulation;②Summarizing current situation of walls’numerical simulation;③Researching on the walls’ refining FEA modeling method, and carrying staticnonlinear analysis with the model to achieve the following goals:1)under monotonicstatic force obtaining the accurate ultimate force and force-displacement curve whichcan describe the whole process.2)with the simulation, obtaining the whole process ofmechanical condition and major damage phenomenon;④on the basisi of the experimental data, comprising experimental results with FEAresults with the modeling method in this paper, to prove the reliability of simulation.On the basis of the above work, laying the foundation of experiment for ourresearch group, and laying the foundation for further analysis under back and forthforce.
