China has launched a national policy of energy saving and carbon reduction, reactto China’s urbanization continuously improving, building energy consumptionincreasing, ecological environment worsening. The joint US-China Clean EnergyResearch Center Steering Committee was set up in November2009to support theresearch and development of building energy conservation, cool roof technology is theexploration in the building energy-saving field by the two sides.Research results show that cool roofs can reduce the energy consumption of theroom, lower roof surface temperature, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, so it’snecessary to study the cool roof in China. After consulting relevant literature, theauthors found that the effect of energy conservation and emissions reduction of coolroof are related to the climate and environment of the using regional, so this articledetermines to carry out the adaptability research of cool roof in Chongqing region.On the energy research of the cool roofs, this paper firstly uses the energyconsumption simulation software--EnergyPlus to carry out the simulation study of theenergy-saving effect of the cool roof, and the study shows that the cool roof can reduceboth room cooling load and air conditioning power consumption in summer, while canincrease both the heat load of the room and the air conditioning energy consumption inwinter. Choose new Chongqing office building and office building in the80’s as theobject to carry out the annual dynamic simulation and concludes that the energy-savingpotential of cool roof on the office building and energy saving estimation formula ofcool roof.And then, according to the research of the energy saving effect of the cool roof,select a office building in chongqing shapingba district, regards the two identical roof ofthe building as the research object. The roof of one of the rooms painted with cool roofcoatings, another common roof room against the control group, Arrange theexperimental test program of cool roofs in summer and winter, test surface temperatureand energy consumption of the room, summed up the energy consumption of the coolroof in summer and winter, analyzed the measured energy-saving effect of the coolroofs in the Chongqing office building.In the study of cool roof to reduce emissions, according to the research results ofthe cool roof carbon emission related at home and abroad, summarizes the calculation principle diagram of the cool roof carbon dioxide reductions, draw three ways ofreducing the radiation force, reduce air conditioning energy consumption, improve theurban heat island effect to reduce carbon emissions calculation method; At the sametime, according to energy saving research of the cool roof in Chongqing region, and thespecific facts of Chongqing region, draw cool roofs full life-cycle carbon dioxideemission reductions inherent in Chongqing.After the adaptive research on the energy saving effect of the cool roofs ofChongqing office building, we get that cool roofs can reduce air conditioning energyconsumption, reduce carbon dioxide emissions. So cool roof technology is anenergy-saving environmental protection technology, and its construction cost is cheaper,which is a suitable roof technology in Chongqing.
