With China’s rapid social and economic development, urbanization speeds up soquickly that the city supporting infrastructure becomes particularly important. As oneof the critical infrastructures, stability, reliability and economy of a water supplysystem are directly related to the development of the city. Most of the traditional waysof water supply are artificial control and with low efficiency, poor reliability and lowdegree of automation, which cannot meet the current needs of urban living.According to the actual demand of Inner Mongolia Jining District’s municipalwater works, based on the fully realization of actual water supply design requirements,and fully grasp the related computer control technology, this issue mainly achieves:(1) According to the pressure of the pipe networks and the flow signal, adjust therunning status of pump automatically, achieves the requirement of stepless pressureadjustment, design and develop the frequency conversion constant pressure watersupply system base on the PLC. Thus complete related control program, achieve thewater pump automatically start or stop, control the frequency conversion pump’srunning frequency, which makes the water using and supplying balanced, energysaved efficiently, optimize the running characteristic of the system at the meantime,pursuantly achieves water supply system stable and supplying water with savingenergy.(2) Using GPRS technology, to solve the communication problem of long-rangePLC control, avoid to pave optical fiber for a long distance, it has favorableeconomical efficiency.(3) Through the completed control program design, the water supply well andpump can automatically decide how many of them will be in motion based on thewater consumption, and take turns to run according to the running time of each waterpump, which prevent the damages because of using the same pump for a long time.(4) Through Ethernet to achieve real-time communication between PLC andmajor control computers, real-time monitoring the whole water supply system.Through the design of upper computer, fully record all the trend curve, alarm andoperation messages.Since investing and running, the constant pressure water supply system averagesupply15thousand tons water per day, fundamentally solve the problem that the scant supply of water in the inner city. This system has high automation level, easy tooperate, there is no accident since running, save a number of self-cost, truly put24hrsconstant pressure water supplying into effect, get favorable running purpose in theactual practical application, receive good commends by the leader and panegyrize bythe common people.
