The UAV system has attracted increasing attention in the modern military andaerospace field for its unique performance characteristics. In recent years, the trend ofthe development of UAV is toward the direction of miniaturization and micromation,its development has bright prospect. As a key component of the UAV, flight controlsystem has a decisive influence on the performance of the UAV system.In this paper, design and simulation of the flight control system for small UAV isstudied. The main work includes the following aspects:(1) The dynamics of UAV system is studied, the USAF Digital Datcom is usedfor analysis of the aerodynamic characteristics of the UAV, then a6DOF dynamic modelof the UAV is established, the longitudinal and lateral linear equations are by usingsmall perturbation linearization method.(2) Classic PID control strategy is applied to the design of the longitudinal andlateral control law of the UAV, simulation is designed on some typical mode.(3) The basic theory of real-time operating system VxWorks and BSP isanalysed, configuration of BSP based on PC104platform is studied, necessary boarddrivers are developed, and finally a real-time simulation platform of UAV flight controlsystem is established.
