Embankment is the basis of highway, the roadbed stability is the premise of the highwayoperation safety, especially the high fill subgrade section, due to the high embankment,embankment fill to foundation pressure increased, resulting in the foundation possiblesettlement deformation increases, the embankment packing compression settlement possibilityincreases, the embankment transverse produce uneven settlement is more likely, therefore, howto guarantee the high embankment stability and security is the road builder of the subject to besolved urgently.Compared with common embankment, high embankment has the following obviousfeatures:(1) fill a huge number, cover an area of an area wide, so for the bearing capacity of thefoundation demand is high. Need special ensure embankment foundation enough strength andstability.(2) because the height of filling, embankment settlement deformation problem, askembankment itself has enough overall strength and stability.(3) with high embankmentunavoidably bring bigger post-construction settlement, so need to strictly control theconstruction good compaction degree.(4) with embankment height, packing uniformity andtransverse direction fill the difference of high, easy to produce the uneven settlement, the needto take measures to reduce embankment big local settlement deformation, to prevent theoccurrence of uneven settlement.Geogrid is a kind of high strength, corrosion resistance, flexibility good geosynthetics.Itsengineering application scope is more and more widely. Application of geogrid reinforced highembankment, in under the action of vertical load, geogrid and packing occurs between frictioneffect, make steel body internal produce the horizontal tension, so that we can stop geogrid reinforced high embankment of uneven settlement. The performance of the grille, embedmentspacing, embedment layer etc factors on the grille effects have greater influence. Geogridembedment spacing of the research, the domestic has already had a relevant results, but for highembankment reasonable spacing, best embedment layer, the domestic few research.This paper based on the construction of a highway in hebei province, according to ahighway high embankment engineering technical characteristics, the application of geogridreinforced high embankment structure characteristics and deformation mechanism. Through thesoil pressure and sedimentation test and observation, the system research geogrid reinforcedhigh embankment deformation law, based on the finite element numerical simulation the highfill subgrade different embedment spacing grid to prevent subsidence effect, establish suitablefor high fill embankment of optimal grille embedment spacing, to ensure the stability of highfill embankment provide theoretical basis.
