As an important equipment of oil-gas gathering and transport process, crude oil heater is commonly used in oilfield united station. Water-jacket heater, as one kind of crude oil heater, is apt to control heat-exchange temperature, effective to prevent coking and so on. The shortage of energy sources made government appeal to factories for lower energy consumption of production, so the study of heat transfer in water-jacket heater make senses.Convective heat surface of water-jacket heater, about 60 percents of total heat surface, is classified into oil tubes and ash tubes according to the medium in tubes. The physical and numerical models are established,carried out by the software Fluent and validated ,which aim at the differences of tube types and medium. Then they are used to analyze the process of heat transfer.Crude oil flowed in corrugated tube was simulated, and the condition of heat transfer enhancement and the optimization run parameter are obtained. The process of analysis of ash tube is divided into two parts: the study of ash characteristic and the exploration of the use of tubes with internal wave-like longitudinal fins. During the study, the variety of ash characteristic, which influence the process of fluid and heat transfer, and the rule of heat transfer and pressure drop in tubes with internal wave-like fins was analyzed.
