In modern petroleum chemical industry, studded tube is widely used in the convectionsection of the heating furnace, to meet the needs of exchanging the fluid’s heat betweeninner and outer tubes. In the past, the manufacturing process of the studded tube is used bySAW, but welding tumors exist in the roots of the weldingment. It is not only affecting thequality of welding, but also adding the consumption costs. Nowadays, the SAW in studdedtube is replaced by the ERW, but the ERW in the studded tube has a big disadvantage thatit is always singly operated by the stud welding torch. In addition, the nailheads need to beset by hand. The method of the craft causes the great labor intensity and low productionefficiency. So it is not adapted for the modern needs in the industry.The double automatic stud welding equipment that is proposed in this thesis can letthe sending nails, stud welding, base metal pipe displacement be coordinated action by thePLC, to achieve the fully automated welding process, which could not only effectivelyimproves the production efficiency and saves the labor costs, but also ensures the weldingquality not affected by human factors.The thesis complexs the advantages and disadvantages in modern ERW of the modernpetroleum chemical industry and makes a detailed study about the process requirements inthe stud welding to design a double automatic stud welding equipment. Work done asfollows:1.Because the nailhead has the feature of two directions, after complexing the actualwelding needs, design a automatic equipment of sending nails, which coordinating the studwelder and transmission mechanism to achieve the automatic welding.2.Through analyzing the structure and size of the studded tube in the actual project,design a advancing system and a rotation system that can achieve the studded tube forwardand rotate. 3.After finishing designing the mechanical parts, choose the Mitsubishi PLC to be thesystem control software for the entire equipment, controlling the welding processcoordinationally.4.Debugging equipment, researching the influence law of the welding voltage andpower-on time to the microstructure and binding properties of the welded jointssystematically in the actual welding, find the best process parameters: the best weldingvoltage is5.8V,power-on time is0.3s.
