Cotton fiber products have the advantages of wearing comfortable, renewable andbiodegradable. It is one of the most used fibers in people’s daily life. More attentions arepaid on fabrics with high addition. This topic through the self-made nano-silver silk fibroinsolution as cotton fabric finishing agent, which can realize persistent antimicrobialproperties of cotton fabrics, and significantly improve the fabric handle.Silver nanoparticles (SNPs) aqueous solution was prepared using silk fibroin andglucose as stabilizing agent and reducing agent, respectively. By UV-vis spectra, X-raydiffraction, laser granularity instrument and transmission electron microscopy (SEM)characterization of nano-silver. By single factor method investigates the sf molecularweight, concentration of reactants, reaction time and pH value on the influence of thepreparation of silver nanoparticles. Results show that the optimum process is: fibroinmolecular weight of7000Da~8000Da, fibroin concentration is0.8g/L, silver ammoniasolution0.05mol/L2ml, water-bath water temperature is80℃, reaction time is4h, pH is10. The size of SNPs was around10nm, and the SNPs aqueous solution has gooddispersity and stability.By impregnation method using the solution of fibroin nano-silver respectively on theraw cotton and cotton fabrics oxide functional finishing. After finishing their antimicrobialproperties and antibacterial wash resistance has carried on the comparative study. Usingscanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy spectrum analysis respectively analyzedfabric on silver nanoparticles morphology characteristics and elements. Oxidation of cottonfabrics after finishing of fibroin nano-silver solution, the fabric with fibroin nanometersilver can produce chemical combination, the amount of silver, antimicrobial propertiesand antibacterial cotton fabric washing resistance are better than the original, the bacterialreduction rate could maintained95%even after30washing cycles. Through in-situ generated using the solution of fibroin nanometer silver to arrangeraw cotton and cotton fabrics, Compared with the finishing fabric by dipping methodresearch, test the antimicrobial properties, antibacterial fabric washing resistance,permeability, hygroscopicity and fabric style, etc. The results show that the in-situgenerated finishing cotton fabrics antimicrobial properties and antibacterial washresistance were significantly better than the impregnation method, the bacterial reductionrate could maintained99.99%even after30washing cycles, wash fastness of the fabricenhanced distinctly. And because of the existence of silk fibroin, before finishing, cottonfabric water absorption ability is improved obviously, surface friction coefficient decreases,and the fabric feels more smooth.
