The Research On Modern Design Of The Chair Style In Ming Dynasty From Traditional Culture Perspective

The modern Chinese seat designing needs continuous innovation, to refine the excellent designing ideas from Ming-style chairs designing, strengthen the cultural and spiritual value of modern seat, starting from symbolization of the modeling elements, diversification of the materials, and etc., seeking the favorable combination of seats and space, building a modern furniture culture with Chinese characteristics.Based on the previous research, this paper is to analyze, verify and apply the Ming-style chairs. In the process of analysis, respectively from the two aspects of the connotation and appearance: firstly studies the ideological and cultural roots of the Ming-style furniture from the connotation, has carried on the analysis from the culture regionalism, Confucianism and Buddhism thoughts, the evolvement process of sitting posture; then carries on the comparative analysis on modeling, material, decoration and scales with the modern seat from the appearance. According to the analysis results, takes the combining study on the point of view of meridian and collateral science, Yin-Yang Theory, the Five Element’s Motion Theory, health preserving science in the Huangdi Neijing to verify the scientificity of Ming-style chairs.On the basis of the above research, to take the application of good design thoughts of Ming style chairs, of which so as to seek the "modern" design works. In the process of application, with time as the main line, to analyze the traditional humanism seat designing of different countries, the influence of Ming Dynasty to the world seat development, modern seat to the inheritance and development of the Ming Dynasty, which summed up the system theory of modern designing of Ming-style chairs, and finally will be applied to specific seat and using layout, to draw the final conclusion of this paper, to prospect on the shortcomings in the process of researching.This paper discusses the continuation and value of the traditional way of life in the present. Based on the changes in three aspects of technology, use function, aesthetic emotion in the present society, systematically analyzes the possibility of the inheritance of the outstanding design elements of Ming style chairs, in addition to the inheritance and development of the form elements, and explores the influence of continuation of traditional literati lifestyle on the inheritance of Ming-style chairs. Open up a new way of combining the traditional and the modern, includes not only the appearance aspect of the development and innovation of traditional Ming style chair, which sales currently on the market only, even including the new seat type which inherits the literati lifestyle and life concept, meanwhile combined with relation of seats and space, for instance creation, to explore a "modern" designing concept of Ming-style chairs in the traditional culture.
