Rare earth element praseodymium modified aerobic granular sludge, experiments using two sets of the same SBR reactor structure, use of Jinan Guangda NO.2water factory regular aerobic activated sludge as inoculation sludge, set different volume load and air in stages to sludge domesticated, load reduction cultivation, granular and matured stage aerobic granular sludge.Modified by rare earth praseodymium sludge formed in35days but the common sludge formed in the45days. In SBR1average particle diameter is3.0mm, there is only2.2mm in SBR2; SBR1SVI value has reached35mL/g, SVI in SBR2was45mL/g. The average IC of SBR1was90%, the value of SBR2was only76.75%. Modified by rare earth praseodymium sludge physical and chemical indicators are better than not the common sludge.COD and ammonia nitrogen removal rate in SBR1can reach95%and96%respectively. Sludge particles in SBR2WAS smaller, the removal rate of COD and ammonia nitrogen removal rate reached90%and87%respectively. Dehydrogenase activity of SBR1was2398.47mgTF/kgSSh, better than the2053.57mgTF/kgSSh in SBR2system. Rare earth praseodymium ions in a certain extent, affecting the formation of aerobic granular sludge in the process of dehydrogenase activity, improve the use of organic matter, contributed to the stability of the formation of granular sludge. The infrared spectrum analysis showed that the sludge contains a lot of proteins, also contains organic acids and polysaccharides. Rare earth praseodymium acts on the sludge, the infrared spectrogram can produce some subtle changes, the vibration of the O-H and N-H area shifted, complexed with some of the branched chain of protein (from3287cm-1to3394cm-1). Wavelength1057cm-1in SBR1and the wavelength1081cm-1in SBR2, making the division and the peak surface shrink, show that rare earth praseodymium complexed with polysaccharide molecular.Modified granular sludge was bigger and had higher compactness, formation of gradient dissolved oxygen level. It could form anaerobic-anaerobic-aerobic in the same reactor, simultaneous nitrification in the interior of the aerobic granular sludge and form more denitrifying bacteria, making SBR1and SBR2denitrification difference, SBR1total nitrogen removal rate can reach more than85%, SBR2is only70%. The nitrogen removal of modified granular sludge is better than common granular sludge.Modification of aerobic granular sludge for metal Zn2+ions adsorption process, has reached the "integrated wastewater discharge standard" GB8978-1996in the second level of pollutants discharge standard concentration and "water quality standard of the farmland irrigation" GB5084-92concentration of discharge standard requirements.In this paper, the research of rare earth modification of aerobic granular sludge praseodymium enriched the content of the related theory of aerobic granular sludge, and the aerobic granular sludge in the wastewater biological treatment technology applications provide certain technical guidance.
