General synthetic route contains two types:the first one starts from the pyridine derivatives, the other is from the imidazole derivatives. In addition, we introduce simply the influence of synthesis reaction made by catalyst.The third part describes the three-component one-pot synthesis of imidazo[1,2-α]pyridine derivatives, ferrous chloride prepared by simple method is used as catalyst. All materials of the reaction are not only cheap, but also readily available. Moreover, the reaction condition is mild and the operation process is simple.
