Inspiration And Discussion On National Environment Protection City Creation In Hohhot

In recent years, with the rapid development of economic, the way how to realize the coordinated development among economic, society and environment has become a new problem in most cities of China. During the Eleventh Five-year plan, Hohhot’s economic growth has ranked first for five consecutive years among27provincial capital cities,and it’s economic aggregate has kept first place all the time in the capital city of5Ethnic minority autonomous region nationwide. Insisting on developing, the government of Hohhot has clearly realized the significance of sustainable and coordinated development, so they made a decision on creating a national model city of environmental protection on September19,2005,and then took it as an important carrier for implementing scientific development and building a harmonious society, and took the environmental protection as an important guarantee for economic and social sustainable development, and took the "blue sky, green water, green color, serenity, cleanliness and sustainable development" as the important contents of a first-class provincial capital city. This paper reflects a good function of creating a national model city of environmental protection in improving the environmental quality by statistics and analysis of the indicators data of Hohhot from2005to2010. And it also analyzes the major measures which has been taken during the period of creating national model city of environmental protection in Hohhot, provides reference for Inner Mongolia region to create national model cities of environmental protection.
