This thesis mainly concentrates photophysical and electroluminescent properties of Cuprous Complexes. The summarize are as follows:1. Efficient orange-red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode using in situ synthesized copper(Ⅰ) complex as the emitter:Three pyrazinyl carbazole (CPz) compounds that could coordinate with CuI were designed and synthesized. Based on photophysical studies of the CPz compounds and their co-deposited CuI:CPz films, the compound9-(3-(6-(carbazol-9-yl)pyrazin-2-yl)phenyl)-carbazole (CPzPC) with CuI was chosen as the emissive layers for OLED fabrication. The optimal device with the structure ITO/MoO3(1nm)/CBP (35nm)/CuI:CPzPC (5wt%,20nm)/TPBi (65nm)/LiF (1nm)/Al emited orange-red light, with power efficiency(PE), current efficiency(CE) and external quantum efficiency (EQE) around14.0lm W-1,15.9cd A-1and6.6%, respectively, was achieved.2. High efficiency green phosphorescence organic light-emitting diode using in situ synthesized copper(I) complex as the emitterThe compound3-(carbazol-9-yl)-5-((3-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine (CPPyC) that could coordinate with CuI was designed and synthesized. The structure of the complex that in the CuI: CPPyC co-deposited films was measured. The compound was fabricated as the ligand of CuI and the host material in OLED. The optimal device with the structure ITO/MoO3(1nm)/CBP (35nm)/CuI: CPPyC (4wt%,18.5nm)/TPBi (65nm)/LiF (1nm)/Al emited green light, with PE, CE and EQE around38.9lm W-1,51.6cd A-1and15.7%, respectively, was achieved. A device comprised of only CPPyC and CuI gave an EQE of12.6%at100cd/m2.3. Synthesis and photoluminescence study of series sublimable cuprous complexesThree sublimable cuprous complexes [Cu(μI)OMe-dppb]2,[Cu(μI)Pr-dppb]2and [Cu(μI)Ph-dppb]2emited blue light, green light and yellow light respectively were designed and synthesized. Therein the photoluminescence quantum efficiency(PLQY) of the complex [Cu(μI)Pr-dppb]2is90%.
