Neonicotinoid insecticides is the largest class of insecticides in modern crop protection, with widespread use against a broad spectrum of sucking and certain chewing pests. They act selectively on insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Fluorescent probes afford the advantages of high sensitivity, high selectivity, fast response and low cost, which have wide application in life science. Now, it also has been used for exploring pesticide targets, modes of action, metabolism, and distribution in the plant. This thesis designed and synthesized the naphthalene imide fluorophore-labeled neonicotinoid compounds hoping that these target molecules would facilitate the research neonicotinoid behavior in the insect, plant and environment. In this thesis,18naphthalimide fluorophore-labeled neonicotinoid compounds have been synthesized, and their biological activity and fluorescence property of each compound were tested. The naphthalimide-labeled nitenpyram have the useful fluorescence properties, but didn’t have biological activities, while the naphthalimide-labeled eight-membered azabridge neonicotinoid analogues have both biological activity and proper fluorescence properties.
