Microwave can penetrate into material and cause volume heating. It is characterized inuniform heating, low cost, and short processing time. Magnetic abrasive finishing is a newtechnology, which takes advantage of magnetic force to processing all kinds of surfacesmoothly.Magnetic abrasive powder was abrasive tool of magnetic abrasive technique. On thebasis of analysis of composition of magnetic abrasive powder were introduced. Thetraditional methods of preparing magnetic abrasive powder are various. For example,mechanical press-fit technique、mold technique、 chemical technique、binding and sintertechniques and so on. This paper introduces a new microwave method of preparing magneticby own laboratory designed equipment. The positions of Fe and SiC are2:1、3:1、4:1、5:1,with these materials mixed well-distributed by mixer equipment more than3hours, thenheated1000℃、1100℃、1200℃、1300℃after pressing compact. Finally, these magneticabrasive powders are crushed and size classification.For getting better preparing parameters, using magnetic abrasive finishing designed byDalian university of technology. When the parameter of rotate speed is500rpm, magneticstrength is0.4-0.8T, axial direction of vibratory frequency is30Hz, axial direction of swing is0-0.2mm, and experimental research was conducted on the magnetic abrasive machining ofinner surface of316L stainless steel. Effect of different preparing parameters upon the innersurface roughness was analyzed. Further more, the paper analyzed and compared magneticabrasive produced by microwave and binging techniques.Analysis and summarize the accordingly data, the main influence factor of preparingmagnetic abrasive powder are dimension of SiC, the best techniques condition can be got,when compositions of the Fe powder and SiC is4:1、temperature heating is1200℃、cuttingrev500rpm. The surface roughness of the pieces can reach the highest18m.
