The effect of three bio-preservative agents, i.e. D-glucono-delta-lactone (GDL), chitosan (CTS), anti-bacterial peptides (AMPs) applied individually or combinedly on postharvest physiology and quality of cherry tomato stored at refrigerated condition(8℃±1℃) were investigated. The main results were as follows:1、Cherry tomatoes (cv. Guifei) were harvest at two stages of ripening (A, red; B, turning), treated with GDL(0.2%,0.5%and0.8%)、CTS(1%,2%and4%)、 AMPs(original solution,5-fold dilution,10-fold dilution) respectively(compared with water) and stored under refrigerated condition (8℃±1℃) for30days. During the storage period, Changes in post-harvest physiology and quality were measured every10days. Results indicated that cherry tomato treated with different agents at both stage A and B revealed more effective in controling rotting rate and weight loss, delaying fruit firmness and color, inhibiting the growth of respiration intensity. Compared with the two stages of Chery tomato, the effect was lower in stage A than B for its higher maturity, quickly decay rate. Consequently,0.5%GDL,2%chitosan and original AMPs was the best concentration used in practice for each individual application.2、The preservation effect of combined bio-preservative agents on cherry tomato (cv. Lubaoshi) at turning stage was investigated by using L9(34) orthogonal design and then stored at refrigerated condition(8℃±1℃) for30days in this study. During the storage period, the fruit firmness, color, rotting rate, weight loss, respiration intensity, VC, total soluble solids(TSS) and titratable acid(TA) were measured. The comprehensive index was obtained by the way of fuzzy weight method. Results indicated that the combination of bio-preservative agents0.5%D-glucono-delta-lactone (GDL)+4%chitosan (CTS)+original anti-bacterial peptide (AMPs) was the best, based on the comprehensive index of sensory and internal quality evaluation on cherry tomatoes. By using the combined agents, the significantly greater firmness, smaller rot rate, less losses of weight, VC, TSS and titratable acidity, and smaller changes of color and respiratory rate were obtained than other combinations. Therefore, the combination had beneficial effectiveness on quality maintenance of cherry tomato.
