Sponge Titanium (Ti) is an important source of Ti material and Ti alloy, which is applied to military and civil industry. Impurity content of Sponge Ti directly affects mechanical properties of the final product. The national standard has specified the limitation for Fe、Si、Mn、Mg. However, these elements are analyzed respectively in the national standard analysis method. Furthermore, the method detection limit (MDL) is above0.01wt%, which cannot completely satisfy the requirement of determination of Sponge Ti. The ICP-AES methods for determination of multielement of pure Ti and Ti alloy have been established in recent years. These methods can eliminate Ti matrix interference by separation and concentration or using Ti alloy as standard to establish calibration curve. However, they cannot completely satisfy the requirement of fast and accurate determination of impurity content of Sponge Ti. Based on the previous works, this thesis carried out the innovative research as follows:1. The ICP-AES method for determination of Fe、Si、Mn、Mg in Sponge Ti with HF dissolution has been established, which can improve the efficiency, reduce the labor intensity and ensure the accuracy of the results.2. The spark direct reading spectrum (SDRS) method has been applied for determination of Fe、Si、Mn、Mg in Sponge Ti on the basis of the ICP-AES method, which can further improve the efficiency.This thesis can be divided into four chapters.Chapter1:The property, production technology, usage and impurity content of Sponge Ti were introduced. The domestic and abroad determination methods of impurity content of Sponge Ti were reviewed and the defects of these methods were put forward.Chapter2:The ICP-AES method for determination of Fe、Si、Mn、Mg in Sponge Ti with HF dissolution has been established, which can improve the efficiency and enhance the accuracy of the results.Chapter3:The spark direct reading spectrum (SDRS) method for determination of Fe、Si、Mn、Mg in Sponge Ti has been established on the basis of the ICP-AES method, which can further improve the efficiency on condition of accuracy.Chapter4:The two methods of ICP-AES and SDRS were compared and discussed. At the same time, the prospect of the development of analysis method for determination of Sponge Ti was described.
