Zeolites have attracted a lot of attention of people, because they can be widelyused as adsorbent, desiccant, catalyst, gas separation agent et al. MOFs and ZIFs aremodified from zeolites. Because of their novel structures, they can be used in morefields. But their structures are less stable than zeolites, because of that, limited theirapplication. This paper focuses on the synthesis and characteristic of the ZIFs of20nm-1μm with different morphologies, the exploring of the conditions of synthesisthe Beta zeolite with the size of20-50nm and the synthesis and characteristic ofZIF-8@Beta composite. In this way, it not only can develop the ability of stable of thematerial, but also can keep the property of the ZIFs. It developed a new way tosynthesis the zeolites@ZIFs.Firstly, we synthesized the Beta zeolites in the traditional way of hydrothermalsynthesis method. By changing the time, temperature, and other conditions, finally wesuccessfully synthesized the Beta zeolites with the size of20-50nm. And the resultwas characterized by TEM, SEM and XRD. Then we synthesized the composites ofmicro-mesoporous Beta zeolite and got a good result.Secondly, on the basis of references, I synthesized ZIF-8in the water, and usedthe CTAB as the structure-directing agent to control the sizes and morphologies. Thesizes of ZIF-8were between20nm and1μm, with the shape of truncated cubes (TC)to typical rhombic dodecahedron (RD). The result was characterized by TEM andSEM.Finally, I used the PVP to composite ZIF-8and Beta. Then I synthesized andcharacterized of ZIF-8@Beta. I found the new material with a lot of excellent abilities,for example thermostability, hydrothermal stability and solvent resistance.Because of the structure of MOFs and ZIFs are less stable than zeolites, theconditions of using them are limited. To composite zeolites and MOFs or ZIFs, wegot some new core-shell composition with more excellent abilities. In this way, weopen up a new way to apply zeolites, MOFs and ZIFs widely.
