Resin grinding block has the advantages of high strength, good formability, short production cycle,when metal materials and nonmetal material are in machining process, it becomes indispensable in grinding tool. Resin bonded silicon carbide grinding block during the grinding process, high grinding efficiency, good self sharpening abrasive tool, workpiece surface is not easy to burn and polishing performance and good processing properties, it can be widely applied in the field of material surface processing. In this paper, the epoxy modified phenolic resin bonded silicon carbide grinding block by hot press molding, the molding process and properties of grinding block are studied.According to the technology of preparation and performance requirements use resin grinding block need epoxy modified phenolic resin, SiC abrasive and filler, and the SiC powder were pretreated samples, based on this design formula three resin grinding blocks. During mixing, ball milling150rpm1H, ball to powder mass ratio is1:2-1:3, raw materials are mixed evenly and less prone to agglomeration. The mixed raw material sieving cold pressed into prefabricated embryo, then preheating and hot pressing. Experiments show that, in the suppression of temperature180℃, time30min, pressure15Mpa, the preparation of grinding block deformation, delamination defects less. By infrared spectrum analysis, DSC analysis and the preparation process, the process of grinding block curing identified as:140℃/1h+160℃/1h+180℃/1h.The grinding block performance by the effect of preparing process factors, the experiment shows that, the mass fraction of abrasive SiC is83%, the mass fraction of epoxy modified phenolic resin binder is15%, the content of coupling agent KH-550was1%, the content of beeswax and calcium stearate was0.5%, abrasive hardness, strength and wear resistance the performance of block reached better level, so the resin grinding the best formula block preparation. Preparation of better performance of three groups of grinding block has been determined by the experimental formula of use, the experiment result shows that:with the enhancement of the mechanical performance of the increasing amount of SiC resin grinding block, as the mass fraction of SiC83%abrasive particles, abrasive block anti bending strength and the best. The friction velocity, load under the condition of a constant coefficient of friction, wear abrasive block with increasing amount of SiC appeared first reduces then to stable development trend, the friction coefficient block finally stable between0.3466-0.4038, determined its abrasion ratio value45.
