Nanotechnology has been the focus of science research since its appearence. Until now. there is a broad reseach field of nanotechnology, include the synthesis of nano matter and the exploration of physical, chemical and biolfgical properties. What’s more, scientists are strongly committed to the development of application in production about nanomaterials. Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) is receiving extensive attention and research on account of its many advantages, such as simple structure,few emissions, easy to be miniaturized and convenient to be carried.and so on. Catalyst is an key factor of DMFC’s efficiency, the research about catalyst has become one of the hot topics in new energy field.In this thesis, platinum nanowire arrays and nickel nanowire arrays were fabricated by using an electrodeposition method independently. Pt-Ni heterostructure nanowires were also fabricated by electrodeposition sequentialy. The catalyst was developed on the basis of a GC electrode modified with Pt, Ni,Pt-Ni nanowires and nafion. The electro-catalytic oxidation activities were detected by virtue of Cyclic voltammetry and amperometry method. The research results are displayed as follows:1. Preparation of Pt, Ni, Pi-Ni nanowiresThere is a lot of steps to prepare AAO template. First tailored alumium with high purity was processed by cleaning and annealing, experiencing a process of twice anodic oxidation on electrolyte of the oxalic acid. The morphology of AAO template was manifested by SEM. Direct-current (DC) electrochemical deposition was employed to synthesize Pt, Ni, Pt-Ni nanowires in AAO templates. The crystal structure, morphology, phase composition were represented by SEM, TEM, SAED and XRD.2. Methanol catalyst based on mental nano wiresMetal nanowires were fabricated by electrochemical deposition method with the help of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template. The morphology and structure of the nanowires were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Then, the composite metal nanowires and nafion were employed to modify a GC electrode. The activity and stability of this electrode to the methanol oxidation were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperograms methods. The results indicated that Pt/Ni heterostructure nanowires were a promising new class of catalyst for methanol oxidation and for direct methanol fuel cell applications.3Methanol catalyst based on gold nanowiresGold nanowire arrays were fabricated by using an electrodeposition method independently.
