Glucose is the essential nutrients for human’s in vivo metabolism. The heat whichreleased during the oxidation reaction is an important source of energy required by theactivities of human life. Glucose can be used directly in the food, pharmaceuticalindustry, it can also be used for the synthesis of Vitamin C. Its main products are largeinfusion and hypertonic needle. The quality of the raw material is particularly important, due to the special route of administration of the infusion needle, especially for thepyrogen reaction, impurity content and foreign matter. If there is no guarantee, it maycause great harm to the patients. Anhydrous glucose is the replacement product fortransfusion or needles, anhydrous glucose is required to be used as the injection ofglucose in the United States and Japan and other countries, which is reflected in thenational pharmacopoeia. For example, in Japan prescription the anhydrous glucose wasonly used as the raw material. Anhydrous glucose is a substitute of dextrosemonohydrate. Anhydrous glucose has many advantages, such as no pyrogen reaction, lower impurity content, higher purity, as compared with the glucose monohydrateproducts. In the pharmaceutical industry, glucose injection, glucose and sodium chlorideinjection which is made of anhydrous glucose, can be used as energy supplement forsome reasons. It has good medical effect for hyponatremia, starvation ketosis, water lossetc. Anhydrous glucose is produced by double enzyme method, the process is describedas follow: The raw material is starch milk, then it goes through liquefaction, saccharification, slag removal, decolorization, ion exchange, evaporation, crystallization, separation and other refined processing to get dextrose monohydrate. Dextrosemonohydrate is the dissolved, through sugar boiling, decolorization, separation, dryingand packaging processes to obtain anhydrous glucose.Because anhydrous glucose does not containing water of crystallization, it reducesthe invasion of impurity and microorganisms greatly. After boiling sugar crystallizationand separation, moisture of anhydrous glucose is about2%in general. During thedrying process, it should be ensure that the removal of a small amount of water moreefficiently, it also should to ensure the cleanliness of the air dried and avoid sugarescape at the same time. How to ensure the drying effect and energy saving, avoidpowdered sugar escape in the strong wind drying process, is a big trouble for themanufacturers.
