| O-shape section lapping method is generally used in the domain of roll forming of stainless steel flux-cored wire, but the process is definitely complex. In the present paper, a docking roller process is adopted to form stainless steel flux-cored wires. For the docking roller process, the most significant problem is the forming control of the O-shape docking section except for the common problems for common lapping method,Simulation study for the docking roller process adopted to form stainless steel flux-cored wires is accomplished. The simulation focus on the quality control of edge wave, spring back and roundness error of the docking O-shape section. Double radius forming method is used for the variant design and comprehensive forming method for the die design. Simulation model is established for the method. Comparison of the simulation results for the double radius forming and comprehensive forming shows a better forming effect in the latter forming method. Orthogonal experiment analysis based on comprehensive forming method is also designed considering three factors of forming progress:forming pass, frame spacing and roll shape. Numerous simulated test analysis have been accomplished and a set of technological parameter bas been extracted for a better effect control. An advanced design and simulation study are accomplished and the results show that edge wave and roundness error under control and O-shape section interface index close to the technological requirement.The study is a meaningful reference for docking roller process of stainless steel flux-cored wire. |
