Metal corrosion will give national economy caused great damage. The most effective,most commonly methods of metal corrosion protection is coating anti-corrosion coatings inmetal surface. The metal anti-corrosion coatings is solvent based coatings at present. It caneffectively restrain the corrosion of metal. But solvent-type anti-corrosive paint has not onlyvolatile toxic gases, but also high cost. Water-based anti-rust paint can effectively overcomeenvironmental shortcomings of the solvent-type anti-corrosive paint, so water-based anti-rustpaint has become a hot research in recent years.The functional styrene-acrylic latex was synthesized via free copolymerization of BA、St、AN、AA and phosphate functional monomers Y by use of pre-emulsification technologyand semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization. The effects of factors such as the typesand dosage of emulsifier, the proportion of anionic and nonionic emulsifier,the initiatordosage, soft and hard monomer ratio, the functional monomer AA dosage and the phosphatefunction monomer dosage on the emulsion and film properties were investigated. Theresults show that: using anionic and nonionic emulsifier system, the ratio of anionic andnonionic emulsifier was7.5:1,emulsifier amount of2.5%,the initiator amount of0.6%, softand hard monomer ratio of1:1.5,acrylic acid amount of3%, and the phosphate functionmonomer amount of2%,can give the latex and the paint film have the good overallperformance.The waterborne antirust paint was prepared with self-made phosphate styrene-acrylicemulsion as binder and modified zinc phosphate and aluminum tripolyphosphate as antirustpigment. The effects of sort and content of emulsion, sort and content of additives, sort andcontent of antirust pigment were investigated. It was found that when styrene-acrylicemulsion was45%of total mass and PVC was35%, the coating has the perfect Salt-water resistance, Salt fog resistance, the comprehensive properties of coating film are the best.
