Aromatic amines and phthalic acid esters are easily migrating from the seafood contactmaterials to the seafood, which were harmful to human health. Migration quantity test ofaromatic amines and the phthalic acid esters from the seafood contact materials to theseafood is an important topic of food safety. This paper focuses on the research of themigration quantity determination of aromatic amines and phthalic acid esters in seafoodcontact materials by high performance liquid chromatography and capillary electrochromatography. The main contents are as follows:High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the determination ofmigration of five aromatic amines in seafood contact materials. Methanol was selected aselution solvent, the samples were purified by Supelco EnviTM–Chrom P column in solidphase extraction. Methanol: buffer solution ware as the mobile phase with gradient elution, while a satisfactory saparation was achieved on a Halo C18column (4.6mm×150mml,2.7μm) at240nm. The linear range was0.1–10.0mg/L, the correlation coefficientswere>0.999, the recoveries were in the range of74.5%–91.0%, the relative standarddeviations was less than5.9%.Pressurized capillary electrochromatography (pCEC) was used for the determinationof migration of five aromatic amines in seafood contact materials. Methanol was selected aselution solvent and purified by Supelco EnviTM–Chrom P column in solid phase extraction.Methanol: buffer solution were as the mobile phase with gradient elution, the samples wereseparated by EP–100–20/45–3–C18column at240nm and uder the pressure of+6kV. Theliner range of five kinds of aromatic amines were2.0–20.0mg/L, the correlation coefficientswere>0.990, the recoveries were in the range of70.1%–84.5%, the relative standarddeviations was less than5.7%.A high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method has been developed forthe determination of migration of seven kinds of phthalic acid ester migrated from seafoodcontact materials. After the migration from seafood simulants, hexane was performed forextraction, and finally the HPLC–C18column was used for separation and detected at280nm by DAD detector. Seven kinds of PAEs have good linear relationship in the linearrange of1.0–100.0mg/L, the correlation coefficients>0.999, recoveries were in the range of94.5%–109.4%, RSD between0.6%–6.1%.A pCEC method was developed for the determination of the migration of seven kinds of phthalic acid esters in seafood contact materials. After the migration from seafoodsimulants, hexane was performed for extraction. Methanol:50mmol/L buffer solutions wereas the mobile phase and finally C18column was used for separation under the pressure of–8kV and detected at280nm. Linearity was obtained of the seven kinds of PAEs in thelinear range of10.0–100.0mg/L, the correlation coefficients were>0.998, recoveries werein the range of81.8%–115.1%, and the RSD were between2.9%–9.7%.
