Pulse combustion is a periodic pulse combustion process which is different from conventional steady-style combustion. It has many advantages such as high combustion efficiency, high intensity combustion, combustion device of simple structure and low emissions, and has been widely applied in the fields of domestic water heating equipments, steam boilers, food processing equipments, industrial drying applications ect. Pulse combustion device is mainly divided into three kinds:Quarter-wave-type; Helmholtz type; Rijke type.Rijke type pulsating combustor not only can be fueled with gas, but also could be fueled with liquid and solid fuels, including heavy oil, lignite, coal and other low-grade fuel, which the other two burners do not have. In terms of its own structure, Rijke type pulse combustor does not need any valves, thus the entire design and manufacturing process is relatively easier. Meanwhile, Rijke-type pulse combustor with high operation stability, wide range of power regulation and the ability to achieve high-power, etc. is more suitable for device expansion for industrial application.In this paper, the experiment is used Rijke type pulse combustor which is designed and built by ownself, the main contents are as follows:(1) The experiment verified the Rijke type pulse combustor is feasible, the heat which is released by the combustion of solid fuel stirres thermoacoustics coupling vibration in the burners.The experiment indicated it can stir and maintain thermoacoustics coupling vibration of Rijke type pulse combustor on the basis of the succession of fuel supply, and verified the Rijke type pulse combustor is feasible.(2) The effects of different particle size of coal under the influence of pulse combustion. The results show that the pressure in the combustor oscillate up and down in the sinusoidal manner. As the coal particle size decreased, the trend of increased pulse pressure, but the coal particle size decreased to a certain extent, pulse pressure tends to stabilize; as the coal particle size decreased, the decreased in the combustion chamber temperature; pulse combustion frequency stable at110-120Hz.(3) Use mixed fuel of coal and sludge can be pulse combustion. The1:1mixture of coal and sludge as fuel for pulse combustion, the results show that mixed fuel combustion, combustion caused by the internal pressure amplitude is less than coal as the fuel pressure amplitude, combustion temperature stabilized at about810℃. But the pulse frequency is higher than simply burning coal as fuel pulse frequency.(4) Carried out under oxygen enrich state of the pulse combustion. Use of coal as fuel for pulse combustion, Leads to the oxygen, the pulse combustion is more intense, combustion temperature is higher than1200℃...
