Global second big printer production enterprise OKI Corporation in Japan owns thepatent technology of LED printer, this company proposed the new environmental protectionidea——Reduce the production cost of the high quality printing paper through straw pulpmaking paper, simultaneously will enormously protect the forest resources. At present, theLED colored printing paper is made of the wood raw material, therefore, it is meaningful thatusing the annual herb raw material to make the high quality printer paper. In view of this, toreduce the cost, to satisfy the environmental protection request, the paper conducts theresearch to the preparation of colored printing base paper with the whole kenaf stalk. In thispaper, the chemical component of kenaf is analyzed, blanching technological conditions arediscussed, and the colored printing base paper making conditions are researched.The result ofmaterial analysis shows that the cellulose content of whole kenaf stalk is higher than commongrass and leaf wood, the poly-pentose content is higher than needle wood and lower than leafwood, and total lignin content is similar to wheat. It’s proved that kenaf is a potential kindmaterial for papermaking and can use for to develop the colored printing original.By orthogonal experiment, it is determined that bleaching whole kenaf stalk uses thechlorine dioxide four sections of bleaching, the best technological conditions is: D1section:amount of chlorine dioxide1.5%, bleaching time90min, pulp consistency10%,pH=4,temperature70℃;E section: amount of hydroxide1.0%,pulp consistency10%,bleachingtime30min, temperature70℃;amount of peroxide5%,pulp consistency10%,pH=11,temperature80℃,bleaching time90min,amount of DTPA0.5%,amount of magnesiumsulfate0.05%,amount of sodium silicate4%;D2section:amount of chlorine dioxide0.6%,bleaching time120min, pulp consistency10%,pH=4,temperature70℃。Under thiscondition,pulp bleaching loss17.7%,whiteness80.3%ISO, viscosity619.5ml/g。Whenbeating degree of this pulp is66.2°SR, tensile strength and tear resistance are the best,breaking length5.0km and tear index10.7mN·m2·g-1。 During making the colored printing base paper, calcium carbonate as paper filler, AKD assizing agent, cationic starch as reinforcing agent, PAE as synergist. in order to enhance theintensity of the colored printing base paper, simultaneously reduces the cost, using marketpulp of softwoods and market pulp of reed and whole kenaf stalk self-made pulp to makepaper. By the experiment, when the amount of PAE is0.8%, the paper intensity is best. At thesame time, by orthogonal experiment, the best amount of kenaf colored printing paperadditive is determined, amount of calcium carbonate12%,cationic starch1.3%,AKD0.5%,ratio of wood pulp, reed pulp and whole kenaf stalk pulp20:50:30. Under this condition, thephysical intensity of papermaking by hand is: whiteness75.5%ISO,breaking length2.5km,tear index10.8mN·m2/g,folding endurance4times, surface resistance3.6×109,volumeresistance5.2×107.Each parameter can basically satisfy the target of colored printing basicpaper.The innovation spots of this paper are making colored printing paper with kenaf insteadof wood, and adding chemical additive to domestical pulp to produce colored printing paperof the LED printer, which open the new use of papermaking supplementary material.
